Sombrero Butte
Grace on the River is a small Retreat Center situated on 15 secluded acres.  It abuts a 200 acre Wildlife
Refuge and Conservation Area
.  The San Pedro River (one of only 3 rivers to flow North) is less than
500 feet away.
This river along with the Galiuro Mountain range has been identified as one of the last
remaining untouched wilderness areas.
The San Pedro has over one hundred documented
archaeological sites.  It has been the home to the Hopi, the Zuni, Tohono O'odham and Apache.  Many of
these ancient sites still remain, and hundreds more that have not yet been documented. In addition the
San Pedro is an important
migratory path for over 4 million birds. The Nature Conservancy considers
the San Pedro River to be one of the most important migratory bird corridors in the Western Hemisphere. It
is home to the endangered
western willow flycatcher, yellow billed cuckoo, and golden eagle. Thus
allowing for wonderful birding opportunities. We are less than 60 minutes away from Dudleyville the
Southwest Birding Capital.
Trails for
hiking are literally right out back, along with nearby Buehman Canyon with year round water
flows and ancient
petroglyphs.  Day trips include Salt River Canyon, Historic Old Tucson, Apache Lake,
Sombrero Butte, Copper Creek and Aravaipa Canyon, Nogales (Mexico)and Historic Tubac just to name a
few.  Please visit our Day Trips page for more suggestions .
Cyclists can enjoy 60 miles of paved roads with unobstructed views of the Catalina and Galiuro
mountains.
